The Challenge

After the first successful implementation, GroupWave wanted to launch Visitool as a standalone initiative. They needed a separate brand and website, while still subtly referencing GroupWave's brand identity. At this early stage, it was essential to keep the costs to a minimum.

Our Idea

To help GroupWave to position their brand-new (get it?) product, they needed something to amplify their brand presence. We suggested using our starter package for Visitool, specifically created for entrepreneurs that want to quickly validate their new ideas. This combines a branding, logo, website design, and development at an attractive fixed price: the perfect fit!

Visitool is an innovative tool that streamlines and modernises visitor registration developed by GroupWave, one of our marketing as a service clients. Our starter package gave them everything they needed to get their brand out there at a great price.

Part one: intake

In an earlier project, we already helped GroupWave to come up with the name Visitool, so we had some key words and values in mind to set the starter package in motion.  

As always, we started with a detailed intake conversation to make sure that we understood how Visitool's brand should relate to GroupWave's. We also discussed their target audience and other practicalities to keep things as efficient as possible.  

Visitool's team also gave us a demo of their solution, so we could get an even better feel of what they wanted to do. The main conclusion from the intake conversation was that we would have to find the right balance between a professional, business-like feel and a modern, human look.

Part two: design

Based on the input from the naming workshop, intake meeting and demo, our designer went to work on creating Visitool's brand identity. It should be clear that Visitool was not (just) there for large enterprises, but (also) for companies that are just starting out.

We made three distinct proposals, with each of them stressing the approachable and modern aspect of Visitool. The first concept centred around the path that visitors take from registration to arrival, the second visualised the host and visitor coming together, and the final concept explored a more modern look and feel.

In all three concepts, we made sure promote brand awareness by referencing visual elements from their brand in details. For example, the arrows used in their website subtly reference the shape of the logo. Trust us, it's these kinds of small things that people remember!

Visitool preferred the logo from the second concept but wanted to maintain the link with GroupWave's branding and the gradients from the first concept. While we try to avoid mixing and matching too much to ensure brand consistency, we always stay flexible, so we combined and refined these proposals into Visitool's final brand.

Part three: website

With Visitool's visual identity set, it was time to create a place where they can spread their message and direct their audience to: a website. Our starter package includes both design and development for a onepager website, as well as a Content Management System (CMS), which lets you create blogs or cases yourself.

We set the website up in such a way that visitors would know what Visitool was at a glance. We referenced Visitool's tagline ‘take your reception desk out of the dark ages’ by starting the homepage with a black overlay which transitions into their modern branding, and by handing out tiny flashlights as goodies during its launch event.

The results

Thanks to our starter package, GroupWave now has everything they need to launch and promote Visitool: a logo, fonts, brand colours, graphical assets, and a website that ties it all together. We also made sure to include some practical tips and concrete examples on how to get their brand out there.

In fact, GroupWave was so pleased with the results that they also asked us to help Visitool with our marketing-as-a-service offering, in addition to their main brand. With a clear branding and website, we had everything we needed to get started!
